Ruthin Flower Show

Chairman’s Welcome

Chairman’s Welcome

We have discussed the Show for 2022, and will hold it on 20th August depending on the rules and regulations in force at the time. Hopefully once again we can put on a friendly family show to give you all a great day out.

Moving Forward

As part of our moving forward we are totally updating our website. It had got very dated and we want a fresh look. The English part of the site is nearly done and then the whole site will be translated into Welsh. We attach equal importance to both languages but it would be extremely difficult to update both at the same time. Please bear with us.

If all goes well the 2022 show should be on August 20th. However after a couple of years of losing impetus then we may have a very hard job getting everything going again. So many people are still nervous about mixing and we will want to ensure that everybody stays safe. For the moment I am leaving the schedules of classes that we worked to at our last show in 2019 on the website to give you an idea of what to grow and prepare for. There may be a few changes but they will be minor, and may include a change of title for some classes. There will not be any chickens on display this year.

We have updated our contact page and would welcome a lot of people to come and join us. We know that some of our previous volunteers are not likely to come on the day to do a bit of work. We would especially like to have some younger people join us. We need an enthusiast to manage our website and we would also appreciate some younger elements to set up a Show Facebook page. The younger element would give us some much needed new ideas.

On the subject of volunteers we are always keen to have committee support planning for each show and also help setting the show itself up on the day before and on show day so we are totally ready for our visitors. I am sure that we can find something of interest, from pets to flowers, from horses to dogs, cars and tractors. All these need stewards so there is plenty to chose from and we do try to really look after our volunteers. Please get in touch and offer your help.
